Modern Middle East: An Introduction The course is designed for both undergraduates and graduate students who have an interest in the Islamic World Since 1500. Islam and the Islamic World has played, and continues to play, an important role in World History from the Ottoman Empire through the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. The class will involves a series of lectures, with PowerPoint, and discussions as well as the use of video presentations in order to enhance the learning experience for those enrolled.
