Problem: You are part of a Central Intelligence Agency [CIA] Counterterrorism Working Group [CTWG]. The Chief of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge has asked for a complete analysis of terrorist activity in North Africa and Southwest Asia. You and your team must develop a complete picture of terrorist activity in those areas and present it to him by Tuesday, July 16, 2002. What did your team find? Directions: The class will be divided into multiple four person teams. Each student is expected to participate in the analytical process and make recommendations. In order to expedite the problem, students are encouraged to use the materials found in the news section, cybrary, and terrorist groups to help present the working group's case to the Director of Homeland Security. Also, you can download the blank map of North Africa and Southwest Asia [this will take time since the file is in PDF format], which may help your team focus on the respective terrorist groups found in those regions. Remember, the Country is depending upon your analysis.
